Financial Assistance Information
HMMS strives to provide an environment in which players, parents, and coaches are proud to be associated with our organization regardless of financial ability. We have created the HMMS Financial Assistance Program to aid in allowing every child to enjoy the Beautiful Game of Soccer.
Subject to the availability and approval, HMMS shall offer financial aid for recreational registration costs to those members that demonstrate financial hardship as outlined in the program objectives and application process. The primary objective of the program is to assist families with the cost of player registration fees for our recreational program. This assistance is not available for travel teams, travel and training costs , supplemental skill classes or any other soccer related expenses. The decision to make any award – in whole or in part – shall be at the sole discretion of the HMMS Executive Board (“Board”), which also reserves the right to deny approval of any application that is incomplete or does not meet the eligibility criteria.
Any HMMS player is eligible to apply for financial aid. As a non-profit organization, the goal of the HMMS financial assistance program is to assist low-income families or families with extraordinary temporary circumstances. Awards will be made based on the following criteria:
- Required: Family household income (as defined by most recent tax returns)
- Shall be 60% or less than the average median household income in Cumberland County.
- Additional criteria to be considered
- Documented approval for reduced or free lunch
- Unemployment/underemployment of one or both spouses
- Families with Single Parent/Guardian
It is the responsibility of each family receiving financial aid to reciprocate through active participation in the club and its team activities. The family of each player receiving financial aid is required to perform volunteer work on behalf of HMMS Soccer during the 12-month calendar year in which awards are granted. One hour of volunteer work shall be required for every $25 in financial aid received. For example, a family receiving $150 in financial assistance and will be required to perform six (6) hours of volunteer work for the Club within 12 months of notification of award. Failure to adhere to these guidelines can result in the forfeiture of the financial aid award and ineligibility for future financial aid consideration.
Applications and Required Documentation
The financial assistance application is available online. Once the application has been completed and submitted online, all applicants are required to submit a copy of their most recent federal tax return and W-2 forms for each employed parent. Additional information may be required. This information should be mailed to the attention of the HMMS Soccer at the following address:
