Over the weekend, Eagle FC United traveled to Richmond to take part in one of the toughest tournaments in the country, Jefferson Cup. Placed in the top flight, the boys began their tournament playing the defending NC State champs, Triangle United Gold. Triangle defeated United at last years Jeff Cup. Within the first 10 mins of the game, United scored 3 times, and held on for 3-0 shutout win. Next up was Arlington Pre-Academy, another team United lost to at last years Jeff Cup. After a 0-0 first half, the boys finished twice in the second, securing their second shutout 2-0. Heading into the final day United was sitting atop the 16 team field and needed a win or tie to remain in championship contention. In its finale, United played defending Louisiana State champion, Mandeville Lakers Elite. With 20 minutes remaining Eagle FC found themselves down 0-2. They remained calm and managed to tie the game, where it ended 2-2. United finished the weekend scoring 7 times, while conceding only 2. With a 2-0-1 weekend, Eagle FC United took home first place in the top flight.
