The HMMS Vipers (03) traveled to Tuckahoe Farms to participate in the top flight of the EDP Summer Classic.

In their opening game against Epic Sporting Stars (NJ), the Vipers conceded an early own goal going down 1-0.  The boys battled back and tied the contest, going into half 1-1.  The Vipers controlled the second half and tallied two more goals winning 3-1.  In their second game the Vipers lined up against Mantua GPS Bayern (NJ).  Once again the contest was tied 1-1 at the half and once again the Vipers owned the second half finding the back of the net three more times, winning 4-1.  Finishing the day 2-0, the Vipers automatically qualified for the finals despite having one more pool play game remaining.  With the heat and injuries mounting, the Vipers took on Match Fit Academy United (NJ).  Once again the Vipers found themselves trailing 1-0 well into the second half.  With time of the essence, the Vipers struck back to tie the game 1-1, which is how it ended.  At the end of pool play the boys had scored 8 goals and conceded 3.

Standing in the way of the championship was NASA United Manchester (NJ).  This was going to be a rematch of the finals played at the 2017 Annandale Premier Cup.  In that game, NASA had beaten the Vipers 3-1...the Vipers were looking for some revenge.  Both teams had some chances in the first half but neither team was able to score.  It was 0-0 at half.  With roughly 15 minutes remaining the Vipers took a 1-0 lead.  NASA would not relent and tied the game with 2 minutes left in the game.  The championship would be decided by PKs.  Both sides made their initial penalities, but then Rock came up huge, saving the next 2 NASA shots.  After burying their final shot, the Vipers claimed the EDP Championship by a final score of 2-1.  Another great weekend of play from the boys.
