The U10 girls HMMS Blaze team won the U11 White bracket of the Prince William VA Icebreaker tournament this past weekend.  The team defeated the host PWSI Courage 96 2-1 in the Championship game on Sunday.  Along the way the Blaze defeated Northern Virginia SC Majestics 4-0, the Thunder SC Extreme (MD) 1-0 and tied the SYC Washington Freedom 2-2.  The team is coached by ex-City Islander Chris Morman and includes the following players: Jenny Bail, Tiffany Brown, Kelly Jekot, Amanda Knaub, Emily Keitel, Emily Wickenheiser, Sammie Walker, Alida Steenkamer, McKenna McMaster, Miranda Gallucci, Katey Frank, Sidney Lacey, Brenna Finnegan and Ashley Rogliano.  The Blaze was the only U10 team competing in the U11 bracket.  

CONGRATULATIONS to the U14 Girls’ HMMS-EAGLE FC ’93 VIPERS coached by Rafael Bellido on their championship victory in the EPYSA Indoor State Challenge Cup on Saturday, March 8^th.  The girls have only been together since May of 2007 and have worked very hard and went undefeated in their Cup games to advance to the final where they shut out their opponent 3-0 in the championship game.
