HMMS Impact First Outdoor Cup Game Ends in Tie

The weather could not have been nicer on the sixth of April as HMMS Impact faced off against TEYA '02A at home for their 2013 Outdoor Cup season.  After two weeks where winter seemed determined to hang on, the sun was shining, and the breeze was warm.  All hoped this was a positive sign for Impact.

The game started off physical, and TEYSA came out aggressively scoring the first goal at the 8th minute, and keeping us out of the net for the entire first half, despite several excellent opportunities by our forwards.  Coming in behind at the start of the second half 0-1, Impact took the fight to TEYSA, scoring the equalizing goal at the 30th minute and making a hard press to get another to seal the victory.  Goal was scored by Caroline S. and assisted by Madi F.

TEYSA did not give up easily, and had several scoring opportunities, but keeper Abbie M. kept them out with a combination of pluck and determination that left them frustrated.  Coming in to the 48th minute, Impact put on a full-court press with four shots on goal and another three strong crosses in front of it.  The wings and mids could feel the tide turning in their favor in the game and tried to put another one away, but ran out of time before they could, leaving the result a 1-1 draw.

Impact now moves on face CASA Crew 3pm at George Park Soccer fields.  Let's go Impact!
